Dan got help from his attorney to trademark and patent popular coffee words like Cappuccino, Espresso, Latte, Mocha, and Java. He used these trademarks to create Coffee Words branded plush toys, game board, and other novelty gifts for selling.
His plan is to make the product available in coffee shops so that coffee lovers can be attracted to it. However, he hasn’t started selling the product yet because he needs more capital to launch it in the market.
Dan revealed that he has already spent between $400,000 to $500,000 in his business, which came as a surprise to the Sharks because he hadn’t made any sales yet. All five Sharks declined to invest in the business because there were no sales.
Unfortunately, Dan had to return from Shark Tank Season 1 without any investment.
