Ashley Sankar, a former U.S. Army Logistics Officer, worked for nine years and, as of November 2024, is a Senior Program Manager at Amazon. She founded the 1920 Clothing Company in 2018, driven by her love for fashion and design.
She has over 11 years of experience in the supply chain and has worked at Siemens Energy, as well as in IT services and consulting at EY, in addition to her time in the U.S. Army.
After starting her company, her goal was to expand the business and appear on Shark Tank. In 2023, she commented on Barbara Corcoran’s LinkedIn post about Shark Tank open calls, saying, “NineteenTwenty (we) will be there!”

The Classic Mid Puffer Jacket from the company is retailed at $298, with a manufacturing cost ranging from $65 to $70.
The jacket has gained popularity online, especially after a viral video posted on social media, which featured the jacket being worn in New York City and garnered 66 million views.
The company began sales in December 2022, making $78,000 in its first month. In 2023, the sales reached $269,000, and so far in 2024, they’ve made $157,000, bringing their lifetime sales total to $505,000.
The company’s lifetime sales total $505,000, with a profit of $97,000, which includes $15,000 in shipping costs. This results in a net profit of $82,000. For this year, they project $750,000 in annual sales, with an estimated net profit of $350,000.
