Business Pitch Episode Recap

Aldo asked the Sharks for $180,000 in exchange for 45% equity in his company, valuing it at $400,000. He also provided the Sharks with information about the design and pricing of his jewelry products.

Robert Herjavec asked Aldo about the inspiration behind his jewelry designs. Aldo responded by saying that his designs are based on world history and mythology, with a special emphasis on Mexican art.

Kevin Harrington asked Aldo if he had discussed his product with any shopping channels. Aldo explained that he had spoken with QVC, but he needed $50,000 to move forward, which is why he came to Shark Tank.

Kevin O’Leary said the presentation was excellent, but investing in this business is very risky, so he is out.

Daymond John said the jewelry design is excellent, but during the current recession, people are not likely to buy jewelry, so he is out.

Aldo Orta’s jewelry rings are priced at an average of $200, and Robert felt that the price is still too high for the mid-market segment, so he is out.

Barbara Corcoran offered to invest half of the requested amount to help Aldo take the product onto QVC. However, for the remaining half, Aldo would need to convince the other Sharks to join in the investment.

Kevin Harrington decided to join Barbara Corcoran in the deal, agreeing to invest alongside her.

Aldo Orta Jewelry Shark Tank Update

After the deal with the Sharks and the episode aired, Aldo Orta Jewelry experienced a significant increase in sales for a period, with many people purchasing the jewelry. However, despite this boost, the business did not achieve the level of success that was initially expected.

Currently, Aldo’s jewelry is only sold on his official website. In 2021, Aldo was hired as an in-house designer for QVC, but he continued to run his jewelry business on the side.

During our research, we found the good news that Aldo Orta Jewelry is still in business as of August 2024.
