Business Pitch Episode Recap
Michael Levin explained his ghostwriting services business to the Sharks and asked for $200,000 in exchange for 10% equity in his company, valuing it at $2 million.
He mentioned that most of his clients are business professionals, and for each ghostwriting project, he charges between $35,000 to $75,000. This price includes all services, along with providing 50 to 100 copies of the book.
All of his clients come through referrals. He works on two book projects each month, and this year, his gross revenue is between $650,000 and $700,000.
Kevin O’Leary said that investing in this business is very risky, and he’s not sure if money can be made from it, so he is out.
Robert Herjavec also declined to invest in Michael’s business.
Barbara Corcoran and Daymond John didn’t believe that investing in this business would ensure they would get their money back.
Mark Cuban felt that the book business’s future scope would decrease, and therefore, he is out.

Business Ghost Shark Tank Update
Michael’s appearance on Shark Tank had a positive impact on building his profile, leading to more projects. However, he realized that the ghostwriting business might not be very sustainable, so he started working as a writer himself. In 2016, Advantage Media Group/Forbes Books acquired Business Ghost.
The official website of the company is now down, and it has fully merged with Advantage Media Group.
