Tim Stansbury asked the Sharks for $40,000 in exchange for 40% equity in their company. His partner Erin Whalen gave a product demonstration and mentioned that their product does not have a patent.
The Sharks really liked the color and logo design of Grease Monkey Wipes. Erin mentioned that they have also trademarked it.
Tim explained that the product was launched only a few months ago and has a gross revenue of $7,400 because each package retails for $1.
Daymond John found the business interesting, but it wasn’t a fit for him, so he is out. Kevin O’Leary said that due to the lack of proprietary issues, he is out.
Kevin Harrington said he doesn’t think the product is unique in the market, so he is out.
Barbara Corcoran and Robert Herjavec teamed up to offer $40,000 for 40% equity, which Erin and Tim accepted.

Grease Monkey Wipes Shark Tank Update
Erin and Tim promised the Sharks that they would make Grease Monkey Wipes successful, and they delivered on that promise. They generated millions of dollars in revenue from this single product, benefiting both themselves and the Sharks.
During our research on Grease Monkey Wipes, we found that the Georgia-based cleaning products supplier company Beaumont Products, Inc. acquired the business in November 2014.
Timothy Stansbury is currently working in product management at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Erin Whalen is a Senior Director in Business Management at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
