Business Pitch Episode Recap

Donny asked the Sharks for $100,000 in exchange for 10% equity in his company. He demonstrated how his Invis-A-Rack could be used with a truck, showing how the simple product allows oversized construction materials to be carried with ease.

He also shared that the product can carry up to 1,500 pounds and that it had generated $50,000 in sales by selling 150 units in its first year. Additionally, Donny mentioned that each unit costs him $250 to produce.

Robert Herjavec asked how much distributors pay Donny per unit. Donny responded that they pay $300 per unit. He also mentioned that he would invest the $100,000 to produce the product in advance, enabling it to carry more items.

Barbara Corcoran said that Donny was “particularly resistant and close-minded, and that’s a very bad partner to be in business with.” Therefore, she is out.

Kevin O’Leary said he doesn’t trust Donny’s business plan, so he is out.

Daymond John thinks Donny is not able to execute his business successfully, so he is out.

Donny’s last hope was Robert Herjavec and Mark Cuban, but they both decided not to invest in his business.
