Ashlee Turner founded The Pocket Panty company in September 2021. However, before starting her business, she worked in a real estate company in college, where she became skilled at closing tough deals.

Business Pitch Episode Recap

After appearing on Shark Tank, Ashlee asked the Sharks for $80,000 in exchange for 10% equity in her company. She explained the use case of her product, a spare pair of panties, and also shared details about her business journey.

In September 2021, Ashlee made a total of $8,000 in sales, which helped her recover her initial investment. In addition, she has generated a total of $60,000 in sales.

The reason for the low sales was that Ashlee hadn’t focused much on marketing through social media. The landed cost of one pair of panties is $2.20 when imported from China, and each pair is sold for $10.

Currently, she sells her products online, through several boutiques, private schools, vending machines, and other places.

Lori Greiner said that there are better people on the panel who understand the business better, so she is out.

Robert Herjavec mentioned that the low sales indicate that the business is not yet ready for investment, so he is out.

Mark Cuban said that Ashlee is a great salesperson, but she needs to pitch the product to people on social media to boost sales. Since Ashlee isn’t doing that, he is out.

Kevin O’Leary was surprised by the product’s price, as he found it quite expensive. As a result, he decided not to invest.

According to Emma Grede, the business is not yet ready for investment, so she is also out.
